Privacy Policy

MetroTrade LLC (“MT”) values our customers, and we believe that maintaining customer trust and confidence to be our highest priority. While recognizing that it is necessary to obtain accurate and current information about our customers to provide the highest level of customer service, MT recognizes and respects the privacy expectations of our customers and is committed to safeguarding our customers’ personal information.

MetroTrade will never sell your personal information, and we will not use or distribute your personal information in any way without prior notification to you. The policies and procedures set forth below outline and define what types of information we collect, how we handle and protect that information, and the circumstances in which that information will be disclosed to third parties.

MT will send an updated Privacy Policy to all our customers annually. MT also reserves the right to change the provisions of this policy at any time and will provide an updated Privacy Policy when appropriate. 

The Personal Information We Collect 

The personally identifiable information (PII) we collect includes information you provide to us voluntarily, or that is received when visiting our website, in the course of completing an account opening application or in the ongoing provision of our services to you. This information may include the following:   

  • Your name, address, date of birth, email address, phone number, social security number/tax identification number, a copy of your photo-ID, such as passport, driver’s license, or national ID, a copy of a recent utility bill/bank statement (or similar) as evidence of your residential address, and bank account details. We may also collect your employment details, employment history, and financial information about you.
  • Information regarding your transactions with us, including your trading history, or your use of the various services and products provided by us.  
  • Information about your credit history and information that we may receive from background check providers and consumer reporting agencies.  
  • Information we collect indirectly from you, including information gathered through your interactions with our website. This information may include, Internet protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, operating system, Internet service provider, and time stamps. “Cookies” are small text files consisting of encrypted information assigned to your computer’s browser. Cookies do not collect PII, however they do provide us with data that we use to improve service experience and maintain regulatory and legal compliance. Cookies do not collect or contain passwords or account information, but they can identify you so that you do not have to input user ID information every time you navigate the website. The Cookies are also used for administrative purposes, such as to maintain security on our websites. 

The Protection of Information Collected 

MT restricts access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need it to provide products or services to you. We maintain, and periodically test, physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with US federal standards to guard your personal information. Unauthorized disclosure of your information by MT staff can lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination.  

Any information shared is required to be kept confidential. Additionally, MT vets third party service providers with respect to their safeguards, procedures, and protections of PII. However, due to the nature of electronic communications and potential human error, we cannot guarantee that communications are perfectly protected.  

Customer Information MT May Share 

MT may share personal information with the following recipients: 

  • Organizations that provide services for our accounts, including FCMs, custodians, accountants, or attorneys (as well as other service providers for your account). 
  • Companies that are affiliated with us (companies we control, are controlled by, or are under common control with us). We may also share information collected between websites that are under affiliated control. 
  • Third parties in connection with mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, transfer, purchase, or sale of any and all parts of MT’s business. 
  • To any parties as required by law, court order, subpoena. 

The information may be shared for the following reasons: 

  • To review account applications and provide customers with access to MT’s services and software. 
  • For day-to-day business purposes such as account management, transaction, and reporting obligations. 
  • To assist MT in providing services and designing products and services to interest, improve, and better serve our customers. 
  • For legal purposes such as a response to subpoenas, fraud prevention, or compliance with regulatory and government agency directives. MT is required to maintain any information collected for five (5) years. 

FCM-Specific Policies 

MetroTrade is an Introducing Broker, and customer accounts are by default covered by the privacy policy of the specific FCM their account was introduced to. 

EU/UK Privacy Policy 

Under the GDPR, in certain circumstances, a European Economic Area resident has certain individual rights with respect to the personal information that we hold about them. 

In particular, such persons may have the right to: 

  • Request access to any data held about them. 
  • Ask to have inaccurate data amended; prevent or restrict processing of data which is no longer required; 
  • Request transfer of appropriate data to a third party where this is technically feasible, and 
  • In some instances, requested data held about them to be deleted, provided the data is not required by MetroTrade and its FCM; to perform services to you; 
  • provide products to you, and 
  • Defend a legal claim or comply with applicable laws and regulations. 

California Privacy Policy 

If you are a California resident and the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) applies, we provide this additional information so you can understand and exercise your rights under the CCPA. 

We disclose your personal information for the business purposes described in this Privacy Policy.  

Individual Rights 

When the CCPA applies, California residents will have the following consumer rights: 

  • Right to access personal information. 
  • Right to deletion of personal information.
  • Right to prohibit the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. 

We do not discriminate against California residents who exercise any of their rights described in this Privacy Policy. However, we may require use of your personal information to provide access to our services. Therefore, when you exercise your deletion right, you may lose access to certain aspects of the services that require your personal information.
